Fig: Register Now: Global Social Business Summit 2021

We are delighted to announce that the Global Social Business Summit 2021 is being held from November 6-November 10, 2021. This year, the Summit is co-organized by the Yunus Centre, the Grameen Creative Lab, and Mount Kenya University. The theme of the Summit is "Planting the seeds towards a New Economy: Time is Now." The Summit is a hybrid event with physical programmes in Nairobi, Kenya, and virtual programmes, both available on a virtual platform.

This event will affirm its goal of promoting Social Business by focusing on roles of environmental sustainability, technology, micro-finance, health and sports in building a reformed economy that can thrive within the existence of social businesses around the world. The event will also feature a discussion on the “3ZERO Club”, an initiative for the youth aimed at attaining a world of three zeros, zero net carbon emission, zero wealth concentration for ending poverty, and zero unemployment through entrepreneurship. This club will facilitate young people in understanding the goal of the three zero worlds, learning ways to achieve that goal, engaging themselves, and networking among themselves.

Global social problems will be addressed, and potential solutions will be proposed through GSBS 2021 programmes which include Workshop & Plenary Sessions with the objective of providing an enjoyable, interactive, and hands-on platform to enhance skills and knowledge among participants as well as empower them. The programmes will also consist of Country Forums and more, where people with interest in social business as well as people of expertise in Social Business will participate. The Country Forums will be devoted to regional focus and will present opportunities to exchange experiences, discover potentials, and analyze the actual practice of social businesses in every country. This year’s Country Forums include Africa, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Europe, India, Japan, Latin America, Malaysia, Nepal, North America, Philippines and Thailand Forums. We will also try something new in this year’s forums where each forum can plan a strategy to promote 3ZERO Clubs in their respective countries.

The 3 Zero Club Convention will be a mini event within the Global Social Business Summit 2021, where the 3 Zero Clubs that have already been formed since June 2021 will be showcased to inspire others to form their own 3 Zero Clubs and join this dynamic ever-growing network.

The 5-day programme will take place as outlined below:

6 November – Opening Ceremony

7 November – Plenaries and Workshops

8 November – Plenaries and Workshops

9 November – Country Forums; The 3 Zero Clubs Convention

10 November – Report Back from Country Forums and Closing Ceremony

The Summit is a journey for today's and tomorrow's leaders, entrepreneurs, and creative contributors who want to utilize imagination and social fiction to improve the world. It will celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and discover revolutionary ideas of social business enthusiasts from all over the world. Yunus Centre and the Grameen Creative Lab look forward to expanding the prospects of social business around the world through this event.
