On Monday, 19 December, 2016 Grameen Telecom Trust (GTT) participated at the 437th Social Business Design Lab (open session) held at Grameen Bank Auditorium organized by Yunus Centre. The chair of the event, Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the event followed by welcome greetings from Ms. Parveen Mahmud (Managing Director, Grameen Telecom Trust). A “Year End Review” video presentation on GTT’s activities was shown after her greetings at the Design Lab.

Two (2) Nobin Udyokta-NU (New Entrepreneur) of GTT presented their business proposals at the Design Lab. Md. Najmul Hoque Chowdhury from Dinajpur presented his clothing business and Ms. Rabeya Begum from Lalmonirhat presented her business on multimedia. Ms. Begum was highly applauded for her entrepreneur skills and ambitions. After finishing her Bachelors in Arts, her in-laws didn’t allow her to take jobs. However her dream to make an impact did not stop. At the age of thirty-one (31) she started her own business. She has taken training on “Women ICT Freelancer and Entrepreneur Development Program” and also on “Computer Science”. She thrives to empower other girls and train them with ICT knowledge and stop child marriage.

Both the proposals were accepted at the Design Lab. This is the 170th batch of NU of GTT.
