Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus met up with a team of entrepreneurial-minded students from the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Japan, at Yunus Centre today. This team has won the "APU Unique Project Competition" and "President DEGUCHI Business School Event" with their project "LEGAME".
The Japanese students are aiming to create social business opportunities in Japan using Bangladeshi products for the university going students there. This is why they came to visit the Yunus Centre to strengthen their knowledge about social business and meet with Professor Muhammad Yunus to get his guidance on how they can achieve their goal.
The team wishes to create social business by using leather products from Bangladesh to be used in Japan. They want to create a bond between the two nations through social business and also to reduce the environmental issue in Bangladesh, empower the women, create jobs and increase literacy rate with their project. Their mission is to provide one book to a less fortunate children in Bangladesh for every product they sell.
