The newly elected Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and former deputy agricultural minister of China Mr. Qu Dongyu invited Nobel  Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus to have a discussion on FAO-Yunus  joint  social business project in Central African republic at FAO headquarters in Rome on September 04, 2019. FAO-Yunus  joint  social business project in Central African republic is funded by Italian government.

Professor Muhammad Yunus also shared his views on future of agriculture particularly in the context of environmental crisis and youth entrepreneurship in rural areas to slow down the migration of young people to urban centers in search of jobs.  FAO created FAO-Nobel Laureate  Alliance for Eradicating Hunger in collaboration with Professor Yunus. Yunus discussed the programs of the Alliance with the FAO DG. He wants to visit Central African Republic with Yunus to launch FAO-Yunus project.
