--
Fig: SOCIAL BUSINESS WORKSHOP : TRADE LAW AND SOCIAL BUSINESS

The main discussion topic is focus on what is trade law. The law and policy that regulates the process of trade were covered with the international trade and domestic trade, but the focus is on international trade.

When it comes to the aspects of international trade regulation, first is based on public which are dealings between private persons and government, and second is based on private which are dealings between the private persons themselves.

Many questions were asked, is the trade law important to social business. The question can be answered by answering another question which is do social business entities export their products? There have to be the nexus between firm size and export capability (sunk costs, economies of scale, information deficit). And then will have another question to answer, can social business grow bigger and bigger? Those questions always been triggered by person who does not know the actual meaning of social bsuiness itsefl.

Then, they will get, DO SOCIAL BUSINESS PRODUCTS HAVE EXPORT POTENTIAL? The biggest identifying trade rules that restrict export must comes with those rules that have 2 dimensions; (1) the rules imposed by the exporting country (Malaysia), (2) those imposed by the importing country.

But, are the social business playerd ready to utilise these tools? First thing is about the trade rules. They have to be remind that the costs to be borne by all exporting enterpreneurs. Or just spreading the costs/burden over large group of individuals? They have the need that to be enhance on social capital. Or otherwise just use of technology to customize the tools.
